How your budget is worked out

Start from your income

The budget page shows income with a monthly figure. It is your average monthly income over the past 12 months.

The targets and Free

The Flexible and Events tiles compare what you have spent with a target. Each target is the amount you plan to spend in that group.

Free is what is left of your income after the targets. It is your income, minus the Baseline, Flexible and Events targets.

Set a target for a category

Targets for a category are set on its row. Open Settings › Categories, find the category, and tap ＋ Set budget on its row.

Held out

The Held out block sits apart from the tiles. It holds money set aside outside the budget: Recurring and Pay over time. Each row shows one monthly figure. Tap a row to open it. See Recurring bills and Pay over time.
