What to try when a bank will not link, starting from + Connect new on Settings › Connections.

Check the bank is not already connected Open Settings › Connections. Your linked banks are listed under Connected accounts. If your bank is already there, you do not need to link it again. If it shows a warning, read Reconnect a bank that stopped syncing. To add accounts from a bank that is already connected, tap Add accounts on its card. If the card says Review new accounts, tap that instead. See Add accounts from the same bank. A row that says Disconnected here Connections can show a row that starts Disconnected here; and says the bank may still show the link. Tap Try again on that row to retry. The button says Retrying… while it runs. 1. Open Settings › Connections On a desktop, open Settings in the sidebar, then choose Connections. On a phone, tap More in the bottom bar, then find Connections under SETTINGS. 2. Tap + Connect new Tap + Connect new at the top right of the page. On a phone, the button runs the full width of the screen. Follow the bank's sign-in steps. On a desktop, you can also start from + Connect another bank in the sidebar. It opens the same bank sign-in. 3. If the link does not start If Jarby cannot open the bank's sign-in, an error box appears under the button. It offers Try again or Reload page. Tap that button. If you close the bank's sign-in before it finishes, the bank is not connected. Start again from step 2. If it still fails Check that you can sign in to the bank's own website or app. Do not tap Disconnect on a bank that is already listed unless you want it removed. When you disconnect a bank, Jarby asks whether to keep or delete its history. Delete removes the bank, its accounts, its transactions and the raw records Plaid sent us. This can't be undone. Keep stops syncing and keeps your history as a closed bank, with no connection, until you delete it in Settings › Connections. Email support@jarby.app with the bank's name and the message you see. If you are signed in, use Send feedback in the sidebar on a desktop, or the Feedback tab at the edge of the screen on a phone.

My bank won't connect

What the Sync failed pill means, and which button to tap to reconnect a bank.

Find the bank on Settings › Connections Open Settings › Connections. Each bank has a card. It shows the bank's name, a status pill (Linked, or Sync failed if the bank needs attention), how many accounts it has, and when it last synced. Which button to tap The button on the card depends on the problem. Sync failed pill and a Re-authenticate button. Your bank needs you to sign in again. Tap Re-authenticate. This can show before your bank ends the connection, so sign in again soon. Jarby still tries to sync the bank until then. Sync failed pill and a Reconnect button. Jarby could not sync the bank. Tap Reconnect. If Reconnect does not fix it, the bank may no longer be supported for connections. Reconnect cannot fix that. Email support@jarby.app with the bank's name and the wording on the card. The notice "Disconnected when your plan ended — reconnect to resume syncing" and a Reconnect button. Syncing stopped when your plan ended. Tap Reconnect to start it again. Reconnect on a desktop or a phone On a desktop, the button sits on the right of the bank's card. On a phone, it sits at the bottom of the card, under the list of accounts. Tap it and follow the bank's sign-in steps. When the sign-in is complete, check the card again. A Sync failed bank with a Try again button If the pill says Sync failed and the card shows Try again instead of Re-authenticate or Reconnect, tap Try again to ask for a fresh sync. Do not use Sync now Sync now is hidden on a bank that shows Re-authenticate or Reconnect, on a desktop and on a phone. Reconnect the bank first. On a bank that shows Try again, Sync now is hidden on a computer. On a phone it is still in the ⋯ menu, but Try again on the card does the same job. If the pill stays If the Sync failed pill is still there after you reconnect, try once more. If it stays, read Bank sync is delayed or transactions are missing. You can also email support@jarby.app with the bank's name and the wording on the card. Use Reconnect, not Disconnect When you disconnect a bank, Jarby asks whether to keep or delete its history. Delete removes the bank, its accounts, its transactions and the raw records Plaid sent us. This can't be undone. Keep stops syncing and keeps your history as a closed bank, with no connection, until you delete it in Settings › Connections. To fix a bank that stopped syncing, use Re-authenticate or Reconnect instead.

Reconnect a bank that stopped syncing

Why a bank's transactions can arrive late, and what to check on Settings › Connections before you write in.

Some delay is normal Banks send transactions on their own timing. A new charge can take a while to reach Jarby, and it may show as pending first. See Why a transaction shows as pending. Check the bank's card Open Settings › Connections and look at the bank's card. The line under the bank's name shows how many accounts it has and, once the bank has synced, when it last synced, for example "2 accounts · synced 3h ago". If there is no "synced" part, Jarby has not finished a sync for that bank yet. After a failed sync, a line on the card reads Couldn't sync. Try again. and how long ago it failed, such as "2h ago". A Sync failed pill means the last sync did not work. If the card has a Re-authenticate or Reconnect button, the bank needs to be reconnected. Follow Reconnect a bank that stopped syncing. If the card has a Try again button, tap it. Ask Jarby to sync If the bank shows a Linked pill and no error, you can ask for a fresh sync. Sync now on the bank's card. On a phone, tap ⋯ on the card, then tap Sync now. Sync all at the top of Settings › Connections, to sync every bank at once. Sync now and Sync all update a bank at most once every 12 hours. If you ask again inside that window, Jarby does not sync, and the card shows "Updated <time>. Next update after <time>." Otherwise the sync runs and that line does not appear. While a sync runs, the button says Syncing…. On a phone, the line under the bank's name reads "syncing…". Do not look for Sync now on a bank with a Re-authenticate or Reconnect button. It is not shown for those banks. Reconnect the bank first. Still missing? If a charge is still missing after the bank has had time to report it, check the bank's own app to confirm the charge went through. If it is still missing, email support@jarby.app with the bank's name, the account, and the date and amount of the charge.

Bank sync is delayed or transactions are missing

What a pending charge is, how Jarby marks it, and what happens when your bank posts it.

What pending means Banks mark a card charge as pending until it posts. Until it posts, the bank can still change the amount, or the charge can disappear. How Jarby shows it In the transaction list, a pending charge has a small grey badge with the letter p. On a desktop, hover over the badge to see "Pending — not yet posted". On a transaction's details, the badge sits next to the payee, and the header of the transaction says Pending. When the charge posts When your bank posts the charge, the posted version replaces the pending one. Jarby removes the pending entry once the posted charge arrives. The amount can change. Jarby keeps the posted amount. The charge can disappear. A pending charge that the bank drops may simply go away from your list. Pending charges that never post If the bank sends no update for a pending charge for 14 days, Jarby stops counting it in spending and totals. It stays in your transaction list. If the bank sends an update for it later, it counts again. What to do Usually nothing. Wait for the charge to post. If a pending charge stays for a long time, check the bank's own app. If it still looks wrong, email support@jarby.app with the bank's name and the charge.

Why a transaction shows as pending

How to add another account from a bank you already connected, on a desktop or a phone.

On a desktop Open Settings › Connections. On the bank's card, click Add accounts. The bank's window opens so you can pick the accounts to add from that bank. On a phone Open Settings › Connections. On the bank's card, tap ⋯. In the menu that opens, tap Add accounts. When the button says Review new accounts If Jarby has found new accounts at the bank, the card shows a NEW ACCOUNTS pill and the button reads Review new accounts. Tap it to choose which accounts to add. When Add accounts is not there Add accounts and Review new accounts are not offered while the bank shows Re-authenticate or Reconnect. Fix the bank first. See Reconnect a bank that stopped syncing. A bank you have not linked To link a bank that is not on the list, use + Connect new on Settings › Connections, or + Connect another bank in the desktop sidebar. See My bank won't connect.

Why a forecast figure can look off, and the usual fix: set the account each credit card is paid from.

Check the card's payment account first A credit card's bill shows in the forecast as a payment out of the account it is paid from. If that account is not set, the card's payments are missing, and the balance stays too high. On the Forecast page, a card with no payment account shows a grey line under its name: "No paying account set · payments not projected". On a computer, an amber banner can also appear below the chart, saying a credit card is missing a payment account. Its Link card → link (or Review cards → when several cards are affected) opens that card's settings. To set the account on a computer: Open Settings › Accounts from the left menu. Click the gear icon at the right of the card's row. Under BILLING, click Pays from. Choose the checking or savings account you pay the card from. On a phone, go to More › Accounts and use the same gear icon. The Pays from list leaves out credit cards and archived accounts. If the paying account is archived or hidden, the grey line says so: "Paying account is archived · payments not projected", or "…is hidden…". Choose the account you pay from now. Check the amount and the day Tap a card payment row, marked CC PAY, in the forecast list. Its Payment settings section has Amount, Pay on and Pays from. Amount offers Full balance, Minimum, Fixed amount and Don't pay. Pay on is the day the payment leaves the account. If it is blank, Jarby uses the due day, moved earlier by how many days before the due date you usually pay. If the line reads "Assumed: pays full balance", no amount has been chosen, so the forecast assumes the full balance. Check overdue bills A bill past its date with no matching transaction moves to the OVERDUE group. The page also takes it off the balance. To clear it, tap Resolve →. Under Mark paid you can choose Link payment to pick the transaction that paid it, or Paid without a transaction. Or choose Skip this one. Check the balance and income On a computer the big figure is the bank balance and the date under it shows when it was last synced. On a phone the figure at the top right is labelled AVAILABLE TODAY (or AFTER OVERDUE), and the last sync date sits under the account name. Balances update when your bank tells Jarby about new activity, or when you tap Sync now, so a transaction from today may not show right away. If a checking account has no income items, the page says No income detected. Use Set up payroll → to add it on the Recurring tab. Check typical spending The line under the page title says whether everyday spending is included. The switch on the Typical spending row turns that estimate on or off. Still wrong? Then use Send feedback in the app. On a computer it is in the left menu. On a phone, tap More, then Send feedback. You can also email support@jarby.app.

Why a forecast number looks wrong

What the Forecast page shows, and where its numbers come from: balances, recurring items and card payments.

What the page shows Open Forecast from the left menu. On a phone, tap Forecast in the bottom bar. On a computer, choose an account from the ACCOUNT list. On a phone, tap the account name at the top to open Switch account. It offers checking, savings and credit card accounts. Cash, investment and loan accounts are not forecast. On a computer, the top figure is the account's current bank balance. Under it, a line shows when that balance was last synced. Another line shows roughly what is available today, what overdue bills take off, and the balance at the end of today. On a phone, one figure labelled AVAILABLE TODAY (or AFTER OVERDUE) sits at the top right, with the last sync date under the account name. The chart plots the balance day by day. Choose 1 MO, 3 MO or 12 MO above it. Three months is the default. On a computer, a dashed line labelled With potentials in the legend shows the balance if every suggested item were added. On a phone, tap the Forecast bar to open the chart. Below the chart is the list titled FORECAST ITEMS. On a computer, filter it with All, Income, Bills or CC payments. Where the numbers come from For a checking or savings account, the chart starts at the bank balance. Then, day by day, it adds: Recurring items on this account. Each one counts on its next date and schedule. Bills take money out, and income puts money in. Card payments. Each credit card whose payment account is this account adds its payment on its pay day. The amount comes from that card's payment settings. Overdue items. A bill past its date with no matching transaction stays in the OVERDUE group until you resolve it. Typical spending, if it is on. This is an average of your everyday spending per week, spread across the days. It leaves out bills, transfers and card payments. A credit card's own view shows the same payments, taken from the account that pays it. Suggested items The forecast also looks for repeating charges and deposits in your transactions. It offers them as suggestions, with amounts marked if adopted. Suggestions are not counted until you adopt them. Tap Adopt. For a group of suggestions, tap Triage →. Income If a checking account has no income items, the page shows No income detected. When the forecast spots regular deposits, a banner asks: "add as recurring income to fix your forecast?" Choose Yes, add it or Not now. The Recurring tab Select the Recurring tab to see every recurring item on the account. Tap + Add recurring item to add one, or Edit on a row to change it. On a phone, the same add button is on the Recurring tab. Keep the chart in context The chart is an estimate, not a promise. Balances come from your bank's last sync, so very recent transactions may not be in it yet.

How the forecast works

How the Spend page counts refunds, transfers and card payments, and what its two totals mean.

The two totals The big figure on Spend has two modes, chosen with Out-of-pocket or All spending. It opens on Out-of-pocket. Out-of-pocket is money that left your checking and savings accounts. Purchases on credit cards are not in it. The line under the figure shows what was charged to cards and paid back from your bank. All spending adds purchases on your credit cards. Its line reads "Includes purchases on credit cards". Refunds A refund is a positive amount in a spending category. How it counts depends on the mode. All spending nets refunds within each category. For example, a $40 refund in a category with $120 of charges leaves $80. If a category's refunds are larger than its charges, it shows as a credit. It drops out of the bar chart, but it still lowers the total. Out-of-pocket does not net refunds. A refund is not counted as spending, and it does not reduce the figure. To net a refund in All spending, give it the same category as the purchase it reverses. A refund in an Income or transfer category is not counted as spending in either mode. Transfers and card payments Money you move between your own accounts is not spending. The Spend page leaves out transfers. That includes a transfer paired with its matching transaction on another account, and anything in a Transfer (internal) or Transfer (external) category. A payment from your bank to a credit card is also a transfer, so it is not counted. The purchases on the card are counted in All spending. The card payments appear as their own total, shown under Out-of-pocket. Pending charges Charges that are still pending count in the totals. A pending charge that your bank has not updated for 14 days is left out until the bank sends it again. Reading the page The WHERE YOUR MONEY WENT panel at the top shows income, out-of-pocket spending and card payments for the same period. Its totals can differ slightly from the figures below. The panel explains that this happens when a transaction posts on one side of the period edge and settles later. Choose the period with 30d, 60d, 90d, 6mo or 1yr. Use the account list, which starts on All accounts, to look at one account. Group the breakdown by Category or Payee. The averages, AVG / MONTH and AVG / DAY, use the total you are looking at.

How Spend totals treat refunds and transfers

How to change one transaction's category on a phone or computer, and how to set a payee rule so later ones follow.

Change one transaction Tap the transaction in the Transactions list to open its panel. In the panel, tap the category pill. It shows the current category name, or Assign category if there is none. Pick a category from the list. The change saves as soon as you pick it. The list is grouped under Spending, Income, Transfer (internal) and Transfer (external). Type in Search categories… to find one. If a transaction is split, the pill shows how many categories it has. It cannot change them from there. On a computer On a computer, the list is a table. Click the category name at the right of a row. It reads Uncategorized if none is set. The same category list opens. Pick one. To change several at once, tick the boxes on the rows. A bar shows the count, for example "3 selected." Click Category in that bar and pick a category. Set a payee rule A payee rule makes future transactions from the same merchant name use one payee. Use it on a computer: Click the payee name in the row. If the row has no payee, click Assign payee ▾. Pick the payee from the list. Tick Create rule. The panel then says that future transactions matching the name will use this payee. To change matching past transactions too, tick Apply to past transactions. Tap Assign. After you pick a payee, the Will categorize as line shows the category that payee gives its transactions. To use a different one, tap Change. Then tick Also save as this payee’s default category if you want that category kept for the payee. On a phone, the list does not offer the payee picker. Open the transaction's panel instead. Tap Create rule from this transaction. The form has a Category (optional) field and shows what it would change before you save. A change to one transaction does not change others. Use Apply to past transactions, or the bulk bar, to change more than one.

How to paste a Monarch Money CSV export into Jarby, and what Jarby keeps from it.

Export the file from Monarch Money In Monarch Money, go to Transactions → Export → CSV. Open the file in a text editor and copy all of its text. Jarby needs the full text, not part of it. Start the import Open Import transactions under Settings, then tap Start import. The dialog is titled Import Monarch CSV. Paste the CSV text into the box. There is also an optional box labelled BALANCES CSV. If you paste a balances file there, Jarby updates the current balance of the accounts you import. It ignores everything else in that file. Choose a setup Smart setup (recommended) creates the accounts it needs from the file. It uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, to help. Manual map → matches each account name in the file to one of your accounts. Your accounts must already exist first. With Smart setup, the button reads Apply setup and shows the number of transactions. With Manual map, the button reads Import. What Jarby keeps Jarby saves each transaction in the file: its date, amount, the bank's description and any notes. It does not keep a copy of the file itself. Transactions that Jarby already has are skipped. The result counts them under Transactions skipped (duplicates). To pick categories, Jarby sends the bank's descriptions of the transactions to Anthropic, an AI provider. With Smart setup, Jarby also sends the name of each card in the file that it can't match, so it can identify the card. See Privacy and your data for what Jarby keeps. To change a category later, see Fix a category.

What an event groups together in Jarby, how its totals work, and how to add nearby transactions.

What an event is An event groups the transactions for one thing, such as a trip or a party. Open Events from the left menu. The page lists events under Upcoming and Past. Each event can have a Planned budget, which is how much you plan to spend on it. Series and the next event A series groups events that repeat. Start one with + New series. A series with no future event shows ＋ Plan next occurrence. Tap it to plan the next event. Spent, shared back and net Open an event to see its header. It shows Spent and Shared back, then a net figure: Net cost when you spent more than was shared back. Net inflow when more was shared back than you spent. Net when the two are equal. The header covers the whole event. It does not change when you filter the list below it. Find nearby transactions The Find nearby transactions panel lists transactions that may belong to the event. Transfers and payments are hidden until you turn on Include transfers & payments. The Include recurring switch controls whether recurring payments are in the list. Tap the add button to add the listed transactions to the event. The button names the event and the number of transactions it will add. The category on an event An event can have a category. It is for display only. It does not change the transactions in the event.

What events are for

The numbers on the budget page: your income, the Flexible and Events targets, and what is left as Free.

Start from your income The budget page shows income with a monthly figure. It is your average monthly income over the past 12 months. The targets and Free The Flexible and Events tiles compare what you have spent with a target. Each target is the amount you plan to spend in that group. Free is what is left of your income after the targets. It is your income, minus the Baseline, Flexible and Events targets. Set a target for a category Targets for a category are set on its row. Open Settings › Categories, find the category, and tap ＋ Set budget on its row. Held out The Held out block sits apart from the tiles. It holds money set aside outside the budget: Recurring and Pay over time. Each row shows one monthly figure. Tap a row to open it. See Recurring bills and Pay over time.

How your budget is worked out

How recurring bills show on the budget page, and the setting that groups them into one fixed line.

What counts as recurring Recurring bills are payments that repeat on a schedule, such as a subscription or a monthly bill. Jarby notices some of them and suggests them on The review queue under Things that look recurring. There you can track a suggestion as a bill. Recurring on the budget page The Recurring row in the Held out block shows a monthly figure. Tap it to see the bills. Its top shows two totals: Expected a month, next 12 months Charged a month, past 12 months One fixed line The budget page can group matched recurring bills into one fixed line. When this is off, the budget page offers it with Group recurring payments into one fixed line? and a link, Turn on in Settings. To turn it on, open Settings and find Budget settings. Turn on Show recurring payments as one fixed line. The setting explains: "Matched recurring bills leave their categories and appear as a single Recurring line. Card payments and transfers are never included."

What a pay-over-time plan is in Jarby, how to add one, and where its payments show.

What a plan is A pay-over-time plan is a balance you pay back in set monthly payments, usually on a card. Jarby keeps the plan so its payments show in your budget and on your card's forecast. Add a plan Open the card from Accounts to see its Card workshop. Open the POT plans tab and use + Add plan to start a new plan. Jarby may suggest a plan when it sees a regular payment. The suggestion shows the monthly amount, the month it started, and how many payments it has seen. The plan screen has these fields: Plan name Monthly payment Term (months, optional) Pinned balance Opened date Notes The term is optional. Where plans show The Pay over time row in the Held out block of the budget page shows the monthly total of your plans. Tap it to open them. On a card's forecast, a plan payment due on a statement shows as a Pay-over-time installment expected on that statement. Finished and deleted plans A finished plan can be dismissed. Tap Dismiss on its row. To delete a plan, the screen asks you to confirm first. The confirmation says This can't be undone.

Pay over time

What the To review page asks you to decide, and how to answer each item.

What the page is for The To review page lists the things Jarby needs you to decide. Its heading counts them, for example 3 things need a decision. The Dashboard has an Open review → link to it. When nothing needs you, the page says Nothing to review. The sections Items are grouped under these headings: Expected payments that haven't shown up. A bill or deposit that is late. It says Possible missed bill or Expected deposit hasn't arrived, with how many days late. Things that look recurring Payees to name Suggested changes For your information Finish setting up Answer each item The buttons depend on the item: Mark as paid or Mark as received, for a late bill or deposit. Track as a bill or deposit, for something that looks recurring. Name it or Set the category, for a payee. Apply this change or Merge them, for a suggested change. A merge has no Undo. Got it, for a notice. Later leaves the item for another time. Undo appears after you answer, so you can take the answer back. To stop a suggestion coming back, use the never option: Never ask about the item, Don't suggest this name for a payee, or Don't suggest this again for a suggested change. Where suggestions come from Suggested payee names and changes come from an AI provider. See Privacy and your data for what Jarby keeps.

How Jarby estimates the points and cash back each card has earned, and how to recount.

What Jarby estimates Jarby estimates the points and cash back each card has earned. It works from the transactions you have imported and from the earn rates of the card product linked to that card. Jarby reconciles these figures against any program balances you record. They are estimates, not a statement from your card issuer. How a purchase earns A card product lists earn categories, such as dining or travel, and a rate for each. For each purchase, Jarby looks at the merchant, the merchant category code, and the category your bank gives the transaction. The most specific match sets the rate. A purchase that matches no category earns at the card's base rate. Recount the rewards Tap ↻ as of in the header of Rewards. The button shows the date of the figures on screen. While the recount runs, a banner reads Recounting rewards — values will update. When it finishes, a message reads Rewards updated. Changing a card's product also recounts that card. Set the rate on some purchases Open Rewards, choose the Cards tab, and open a card. In its transaction list, select purchases and tap Earn rate. The popover is headed Earn at. Card decides (default) leaves the card's own rules in charge. A category from the card sets that rate for the selected purchases. Custom rate… asks for Points per $1. After you pick a category, choose the scope: Just these purchases, or future purchases from the same payees. Tap Apply · N, where N is the number selected. Jarby runs one recount after that. There is no Undo. A very large selection asks you to confirm first. Read the Cards tab Value earned and Credits cover the range you pick, 1 year or Lifetime. On a computer, each card row shows Earned and Return ¢/pt. On a phone, the return appears under the card's name as "… ¢/pt return". A card without a card product shows Identify this card. A card marked Not listed tracks no rewards. Points are valued at a rate you can change. See How points are valued. To link a card to its card product first, see Add a credit card to Jarby.

How rewards are counted

Connect the bank that issues your card, then choose its card product so Jarby can count its rewards.

1. Connect the bank that issues the card A credit card reaches Jarby through the bank that issues it. Open Settings › Connections and tap + Connect new. On a computer you can also use + Connect another bank in the sidebar. Finish the bank's steps in the window that opens. If the bank is already connected and the card is missing, use Add accounts on the bank's card. Add more accounts from the same bank shows where to find it on a phone. 2. Find the card Open Settings › Accounts. On a phone, tap More and then Accounts. Your card is listed under Credit cards. On the card's row, tap the gear button labelled Account settings. 3. Choose the card product In the ACCOUNT section, find the Card product row. It shows Not set until you choose a product. On a computer, a list opens under the row. On a phone, a sheet titled Card product opens. Type in Search cards… and tap your card. If your card is not in the list, choose Not listed (generic). Jarby then tracks no rewards for that card. The row is locked while the card list loads or a recount is running. Wait for it to finish, then try again. 4. Link the rewards program Under REWARDS, the Program account row links the card to a points program. Pick the program from the list. If the card's row says Not linked to a rewards program, tap Link to link it to a matching program account. If there is no match, the row offers Create & link, which makes a new program account and links it to the card. What happens next Once a card has a card product, its purchases count toward Rewards. Until then, the Rewards page asks you to link your cards to a card product. To see how the figures are worked out, read How rewards are counted.

Where a point's value comes from, and how to set your own cents-per-point value for a program.

What a point is worth Jarby values points in cents per point, shown as ¢/pt. For each program, Jarby uses the first of these that is set: Your override: a value you typed in for that program. Program data: the value Jarby holds for the program. TPG est. or Face value: a built-in value for some programs. A TPG est. value shows the date it was estimated. Otherwise, 1¢ per point. The value turns a point balance into dollars. Those dollars are the Value figures on Rewards. 1. Open the program Open Rewards and choose the Programs tab. Tap the program's row. 2. Open Program settings Tap the gear button at the top of the program panel. Its label is Program settings. 3. Type the value In Point value · ¢ per point, type the cents. For example, 1.5 means each point is worth 1.5¢. A dollar figure appears beside the field. Changes save as you type, as the panel's subtitle says. When the field is empty, its placeholder shows the value in use. The line beside the field reads realized and names the source. To go back to Jarby's value, tap Clear override. That link appears only when you have an override. Cash back Cash back is not valued in points. Jarby treats it at a fixed rate, so the cash back panel shows no ¢/pt figure. Where values appear Rewards › Programs shows each program's Value ¢/pt and Value. The page also has a Balance value tile. Rewards › Cards shows Return ¢/pt on each card row on a computer; on a phone it appears under the card's name as "X.XX¢/pt return". That is the value per point used for the card. These figures are estimates. For how the points themselves are counted, see How rewards are counted.

How points are valued

How card payments, statement balances, due dates and missed payments show on Forecast, and where to set them.

Card payments on Forecast Each card payment is a row on Forecast, tagged CC PAY and named "<card> payment". The row is dated on the day Jarby expects the money to leave checking. That is the Pay on day if you set one. If not, it is the due date, moved earlier by how many days before the due date you usually pay. Tap the row to open its panel, headed CARD PAYMENT. What the amount is made of The first line is usually Statement balance, with Closed and the close date beneath it. Without a statement, the first line names an estimate instead. Other lines appear when they apply: Credits since close: credits posted after the statement closed. Already paid toward this statement: payments already made. Autopay set to minimum, or Autopay set to $… fixed: an autopay setting that lowered the amount. This payment: the total Jarby expects to pay. If the panel shows ⚠ RECONCILED TO $0 — REVIEW, type the bill your bank shows into the amount box and tap Pin bill. Due dates and autopay Open Settings › Accounts, find the card under Credit cards, and tap its gear, Account settings. In the BILLING section: Statement closes is the day your statement closes. Payment due is the day payment is due. It shows · set by you when you typed it in. Pay on is the day Jarby drafts the payment. It shows Due day when blank. Credits reduce autopay has a checkbox, Credits reduce the autopay draft. It is off by default, so the full statement balance is drafted. Statements Open the Card workshop row and tap Open. The Cycles tab lists each statement. Use + Add statement for a missing one, and Mark paid in full or Unmark paid on a statement. Overdue and missed payments Unmatched card payments past their date sit in the OVERDUE group at the top of Forecast. The chip shows how late: OVERDUE for up to 14 days. MISSED after 14 days. AWAITING TXN or PENDING: Jarby is waiting for the payment to show up, usually a sync delay. Open an overdue row to Mark paid, through Link payment or Paid without a transaction, or to Skip this one. A card payment still unmatched after 14 days moves to To review, under Expected payments that haven't shown up. Forecast shows a line such as "1 card payment couldn't be matched — check it on To review →". Due-date alerts The Alerts panel on the Dashboard can show Payment due: <card> while a payment is due soon and unpaid. Payment due lead time (days) under Settings › Alerts sets how soon, and defaults to 5.

Jarby signs you in with Google and asks that 2-Step Verification is on for your Google account (on by default).

How you sign in Jarby uses your Google account to sign you in. There is no Jarby password. On the sign-in page, click Sign in with Google. Signed-out visitors can reach that page from the Sign in link in the page header. On a phone, open the header menu first. Only people who have been invited can use Jarby. If your Google email was not invited, you see a page titled "Jarby is invite-only for now". Why you see "Turn on 2-Step Verification" Jarby asks that your Google account has 2-Step Verification turned on, and refuses sign-in without it while that check is on (it is on by default). When it refuses, you see a page titled Turn on 2-Step Verification to use Jarby. That page has three parts: A link, Go to your 2-Step Verification page, which opens Google's 2-Step settings in a new tab. A Sign in again button, which starts Google sign-in again. A short note about what to try if the page still appears. Turn on 2-Step Verification In your Google Account, open Security and find 2-Step Verification. Follow Google's steps to turn it on. You can also go straight to the 2-Step Verification page. When it is on, go back to Jarby and click Sign in with Google, or Sign in again on the page you saw. Still seeing the page? Open a private window and sign in again. If that does not work, remove trusted devices on your 2-Step Verification page, then sign in again. If you are still stuck, see Contact support. You can email support@jarby.app even while you are signed out.

How to delete your Jarby account from Settings › Privacy, and what the deletion removes and when.

Before you delete Deleting your account is permanent. Export a copy first if you want to keep your records. See Export my data. If you only want to remove one bank, disconnect that bank instead. Open Settings › Connections, then click Disconnect on the bank's card. On a phone, tap ⋯ on the bank's card, then Disconnect. How to delete your account 1. Open Settings › Privacy On a computer, click Settings in the left sidebar, then Privacy. On a phone, tap More, then Privacy under SETTINGS. 2. Start the deletion In the Your data card, click Delete my account. 3. Confirm with your email In the box, type your email address. The confirm button stays off until the text matches. Then click Delete my account again. Jarby shows "Account deleted. Signing out…" and then signs you out. What deletion removes Your data leaves the live database at once, except any invitation record, the record of bank webhook calls Jarby received (these have no set deletion period today), and your email address if you joined the waitlist. Jarby keeps a waitlist email only to tell you when you can join, until you ask for it to be removed. Email support@jarby.app to have it removed. Jarby asks Plaid to end your bank connections. This is a best effort: if Plaid does not confirm, Jarby still deletes its own copy. Jarby asks Stripe to delete your billing record. Nightly backup copies roll off after about 30 days. Copies the operator made by hand are deleted by the operator. Server logs have no set deletion period today. The privacy policy says a limited period will apply from the hosting move. Anthropic keeps data only as its terms allow. For the full list, read the Privacy policy. To learn what Jarby keeps and who can see it, read Privacy and your data. We answer requests within 30 days.

How to download a JSON copy of your Jarby records from Settings › Privacy, and what the file holds and leaves out.

How to export 1. Open Settings › Privacy On a computer, click Settings in the left sidebar, then Privacy. On a phone, tap More, then Privacy under SETTINGS. 2. Click Export my data In the Your data card, click Export my data. The button shows "Preparing…" while the file is built. Your browser then saves a file named jarby-export- followed by the date, with a .json ending. If the export fails, you see "Couldn't prepare your export. Try again." Click Export my data again. What the file contains The file is one JSON document. It holds: Your account row, including your email address and the settings stored on it. Your records: accounts, transactions, cards and rewards, categories, payees, recurring items, budget settings, events and the feedback you sent. Your bank connection records, without the secrets that let Jarby reach your bank. Raw copies of what Plaid sent, with credential-like fields removed. The AI suggestion records and activity logs kept for your account. A summary at the end that counts each kind of record. What the file leaves out Secrets, such as bank access tokens and API key values. Plaid's internal identifiers and sync cursors, internal payment IDs and staff-only settings. Calculated values that Jarby rebuilds from your records, such as card-value and recurring-detection caches. If something is missing The export covers your account's records. If you expect something that is not in the file, email support@jarby.app and ask. We answer requests within 30 days. To learn what Jarby keeps and who can see it, read Privacy and your data. To remove your account, read Delete my data.

What Jarby keeps, who can see it, how long it is kept, and what you can do in Settings › Privacy.

What Jarby keeps Jarby keeps: Your email address, from sign-in. Settings you enter, such as cards, account and rewards-program names, recurring items and categories. What you import from a file, such as the transactions in a bank or budgeting-app export. Jarby does not keep the file itself. Feedback you send. For the accounts you connect: account names, types, last four digits and balances, transactions, and credit card statement details. Sign-in and security events, how the app categorized your transactions, and error reports. A record of each call Jarby makes to Plaid or Anthropic (time, type and result), and copies of AI suggestion requests and replies. Jarby never receives your bank password or your full card number. You sign in to your bank in Plaid's window, and you enter card details on Stripe's page. Jarby holds the information each signed-in member adds. By default, only the operator, and software the operator runs, can access it. You can choose to give someone else access to your totals only, never your transactions, names or account numbers, and you can revoke that. (The operator is the person who runs Jarby for Jarby LLC.) No one else can sign up until every 'Before anyone else is invited' item in the privacy notice is in place. If you are not the operator, those items describe how we treat your data. Who can see it The privacy notice says: "Only the operator, and software the operator runs (including AI agents provided by Anthropic), can access your information." Totals-only access you choose to give someone is separate from that. Jarby shares your information only with the companies below, which work for us, and as the privacy notice describes under 'Other disclosures' (for example, to respond to court orders and legal investigations, and as permitted by law): Plaid connects your bank and card accounts. Anthropic provides the AI features in the app and the AI agents the operator uses to run Jarby. The privacy policy lists what is sent and how long Anthropic keeps it, including up to 2 years for a session flagged for safety review. Google handles sign-in. It learns that you sign in to Jarby, and gets none of your financial data. Stripe handles subscriptions. Today billing is in test mode and no card is charged. Sentry handles error monitoring. An error report can sometimes include a piece of your data, such as a transaction description. Resend will send account emails (invitations and service notices). Today Jarby sends no email. Jarby runs on a single server that the operator owns and runs, in the United States. Hosting is moving; the privacy policy will say when. Jarby does not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it for advertising. It does not make credit decisions. How long it is kept Your accounts, transactions, cards, settings and feedback stay until you delete your account. Database backups keep the last 30 nightly copies, about 30 days. Copies made by hand are deleted by the operator. Copies of AI suggestion requests and replies are kept for 30 days, and deleted sooner when you delete your account or disconnect a bank. Webhook receipts from Plaid and Stripe are deleted after 90 days. A few items have no set deletion period today, such as server logs and encryption-key snapshots. The retention table in the Privacy policy lists them. What you can do In Settings › Privacy you can: Download a copy of your main records. See Export my data. Correct most data in the app. Delete your account. See Delete my data. If your invite is withdrawn, you can still sign in for up to an hour at a time to download your data or delete your account. Nothing else opens. Read the full policy The Privacy po
