Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
Where this service runs
Jarby runs on a single server that the operator owns and runs, in the United States. It is operated as a closed beta, a personal project made available to a small invited group. Hosting is moving to jarby.app. The operator is solely responsible for service availability, security patching, backups, and the third-party processors listed in the Privacy Policy.
By using Jarby, you agree to these terms.
Eligibility and access
- Sign-in is invite-only. The operator keeps the invite list. If your email isn't on it, sign-in fails and no account is created.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be the rightful owner of any financial accounts you connect or import.
The operator may add or remove emails from the invite list, and may de-provision your account at any time via the admin console. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data on de-provisioning.
Acceptable use
- You may use the service only for your personal financial data.
- Do not attempt to access other users' data, probe the system for vulnerabilities, or submit credentials for accounts that aren't yours.
- Do not upload malicious payloads, abuse the API, or run denial-of-service patterns against the service.
- Do not attempt to extract or clone the operator's catalog data (credit-card metadata, rewards programs) for redistribution.
Service availability
Jarby is in closed beta. The service may be interrupted, degraded, or unavailable at any time, with or without notice. There is no uptime guarantee, no SLA, and no support contract.
No financial advice
Nothing in this product constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Forecasts, card recommendations, and rewards analyses are informational only and based on data you provide. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions and for verifying any output of this service before acting on it.
Beta-quality output
Forecast accuracy, rewards calculations, and card-comparison rankings depend on the completeness and quality of the data you connect or import. The service makes a best effort to surface gaps (banner copy, "unverified" pills, missing-data disclosures) but does not guarantee correctness. Treat the application's output as a starting point for your own review, not a final answer.
Right to terminate
The operator may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, submit fraudulent data, or attempt to circumvent security controls. You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Privacy → Delete account, which permanently deletes your data without operator action.
The operator may also de-provision any account at any time without cause. See the Privacy Policy for the data-deletion commitment that attends operator de-provisioning.
Third-party services
The service depends on Plaid (bank connections), Anthropic (Claude API for classification and analysis features), Google (sign-in), and Stripe (trials and subscriptions). By using Jarby, you also accept the terms and privacy policies of those third parties to the extent they apply to data processed on your behalf. See the Privacy Policy for the full list and links.
Billing
Jarby includes a trial and paid plans, handled by Stripe. Billing runs in Stripe's test mode today: the application refuses a live Stripe key, so no real card is charged. These terms will be updated before live billing begins.
Disclaimer
The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service, including but not limited to data loss, incorrect forecasts, missed payments, missed rewards, or interruption of service. The operator's aggregate liability under these terms is limited to the greater of US $0 or the amount you have paid to the operator in the past twelve months.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of the operator's residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of competent jurisdiction in that state.
Changes to these terms
Material changes will be reflected by an updated Last updated date at the top of this document. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
